A Good Samaritan

While I wrote "Courage in the Congo," I met Don Foster, a Congo missionary who cares for the "poorest of the poor." He recently shared this story:
SIX YEARS living in this garbage pile on the side of the road near Beni, Congo, "Mama" has no family or even a real name that Don or Jenya know of yet. Everything is wrong with every part of her body, soul, mind, and spirit. Even her feet are "rotten" from living in the garbage even when it rains.
Don reports, " 'We' have admitted her to a hospital. 'We' consists of a team of local people, a counselor, police chief, hospital administrator, medical doctors, two psychiatric nurses, and a lady to bathe and dress her." He adds, "Please pray for "Mama." It was a miracle to get her into care. She will need another miracle to stay calm enough to remain at the hospital while being treated for every disease and infection imaginable, plus severe psychiatric issues."
Don continues, "' Mama' is like the "half-dead" man in the parable of the Good Samaritan - especially because everyone from a local church has walked by her for six years. "Mama" is like Lazarus near the church, where everyone dresses up and eats well. Many months ago, the Lord told me, "If you see Me lying on the side of the road half dead, don't pass me by." We have finally stopped for her, and I am sorry that it took so long."
Don concludes, "No one should starve to death or die from preventable diseases with food and medicine on every corner. No Christian should pass by on the other side of the road."
You can read many inspiring stories on Don's Facebook page (Don Love More Foster). If you would like to feed starving prisoners, buy medicine, pay school fees or help the children, you can give online at: https://www.dunamis.vegas/give/ (Choose LYNA – Don Foster) or Zelle them at JesusLoverDon@gmail.com (not tax-deductible). Zelle is preferred - it is free and easy.
