Dr. Jerry Galloway did not see himself as a hero but as someone following his calling. Jerry considered the Botoa Pygmies his brothers, sisters, and friends.
Thank you to Ken Gehler, a Mendota HS classmate of Dr. Jerry, for organizing an event to honor Jerry for his life’s work in the Congo. The event will be at 8:45 a.m. on the stage outside the Mendota Museum & Historical Society (old Graves Library) on Saturday, August 13th (Mendota Sweet Corn Festival weekend). Family and friends are welcome to attend.
Several signed copies of the book “Courage in the Congo” about Jerry’s life will be raffled off at the event. The book is also available on Amazon (paperback or Kindle).
