Father Romain Clement was a missionary and is now the archivist for CICM. He shared this:
"The first time I met Jerry was in 1974-75, in the Kasai province in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jerry was a Peace Corps volunteer, whereas I was at work as a teacher at a local mission college. It did not take long before we discovered that we were born on exactly the same day – December 21, 1938. Sometime later, I was informed that Jerry joined our religious congregation of CICM and became a missionary in the Inongo region.
I am really happy that finally a book will be published about Jerry. The size of his work and his missionary dedication deserves to be brought to the attention of as many as possible." – Father Romain Clement, CICM
