Thank you to Ken Gehler, a Mendota HS classmate of Dr. Jerry, for organizing an event to honor Jerry for his life’s work in the Congo. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Jerry would not have sought the honor, but he wrote a letter home every week for 27 years. He hoped his letters would help someone who had gone through a crisis of faith or abandoned God so they could return to their faith in God.

Following is an article in the Mendota Reporter:

MENDOTA – A memorial ceremony to honor the life and legacy of Mendota native Dr. Jerry Galloway is planned for 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, on the Sweet Corn Festival main stage on Washington Street next to the Hume-Carnegie Museum. Ken Gehler has orchestrated some Galloway family members and others to speak at the ceremony. (Please hold the Control key and click to read the full article in the Mendota Reporter).

Several signed copies of the book “Courage in the Congo” about Jerry’s life will be sold to raise money for a mural that is being done in downtown Mendota. The book is also available on Amazon (paperback or Kindle).
