Courage is a Choice

Writer's picture: Kent GallowayKent Galloway

"Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them. Today, I will choose courage over comfort." - Brene Brown, researcher, teacher, and author

This quote applies to the life of Dr. Jerry Galloway. He wanted to be a successful surgeon and live in Colorado. God had other plans. Jerry gave away everything to become a missionary and live among the Pygmies in a remote rainforest. Jerry later confirmed that he could have given up the practice of medicine, but he could not give up sharing God's word and love with others. The book, "Courage in the Congo," shows how one man had the courage to bring hope, peace, and love to the people of the rainforest.

From recent reviews:

"I told them that my Botoa brothers and sisters always said, 'Your bones belong to us, and they are going to stay with us so that our children and we can visit you.' A powerful story of Faith, Love, and GRACE!"

I was really moved when I read this book. This man gave his life for the pygmy people. A very inspirational memoir.
