Health Care in the Congo

If you have read excerpts from “Courage in the Congo,” you know how critical health care was to Dr. Jerry Galloway. He supported the schooling for many young men to become doctors and nurses. He also formed a group of “barefoot doctors” who walked the rainforest trails to deliver basic health care to remote villages. The desire of Dr. Jerry is one of the reasons that I am blessed to be a part of the board for Friends of IMCK (FIMCK).

IMCK (Christian Medical Institute of Kasai) has provided much-needed health care in the Kasai region for more than 65 years. They have trained many nurses and health care workers. FIMCK has established an endowment to support the work of IMCK and ensure its longevity.

Go to www.imck.org to learn more about IMCK (history, personnel, operations) and FIMCK (purpose, board member listing). You can donate to the endowment directly on the site!
