Missionhurst missionaries try to respond to the people’s most urgent needs by doing tasks such as starting farm projects, providing clean water, improving nutrition and health, building a school or a shelter for orphans.
Missionhurst missionaries participate in day-to-day efforts to achieve life-long spiritual and material changes in the lives of those they are serving.
Dr. Jerry Galloway certainly epitomized this as he brought education, Bible-study, farming, medical clinics and boarding homes to the pygmies he served.
Jerry worked tirelessly at each of those tasks during the 27 years he served in the Congo.
