A few days later, the barge arrived, and there should be over 100 cartons of medicine on it. I left to receive them as we had run out of many medications. Unloading the barge became hot and heavy work. The temperatures reached 95 degrees, and the humidity had to be higher. Only 80 cartons arrived, and they weighed a total of 500 pounds. It took us 6 hours to unload the packages, barrels of fuel, food, and other supplies onto the beach. We then started loading the truck. I climbed onto the truck bed to help place the cartons in order. As I did so, soldiers arrived and demanded we open every container.
