Standing in the Gap

I am excited to be part of the FIMCK Board as we continue to grow the endowment to help ensure the Good Shepherd hospital and facilities remain standing for many years.

These physicians stand in front of the IMCK Good Shepherd Hospital in the Congo DRC, and looking at them brings to mind the Biblical expression “standing in the gap.” IMCK is a teaching medical center with campuses in and near Kananga. Kananga, with a population of over a million people, has few ventilators. IMCK attracts people with lung complications, for they have the only oxygen concentration machine in the area. Vaccines are scarce here.

The medical staff who stand in the gap at IMCK are well aware of the importance of wearing masks, washing hands, and providing layers of protection against the virus. As we approach the end of 2021 and reflect on our blessings, please consider donating to the IMCK endowment. Over $65,000 has been offered to match this year, in honor of former IMCK Administrator Bernard Kabibu, who faithfully stood in the gap.

Would you mind going to https://imck.org to read about this institution, founded in 1954 by American missionaries and HOW TO GIVE? Small and large donations are gratefully accepted!
